WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8KOs) is in the dark regarding a potential April unification against WBO king Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20KOs). Rigondeaux was under the impression that everything was in motion to face Donaire in April, but recently other names have been mentioned for Donaire - like Abner Mares and Vic Darchinyan - and now Rigondeaux is no longer confident the unification will happen.

Rigondeaux has been training and continues to wait for his team to give him confirmation about his next fight. At the moment, the two-time Olympic gold medal winner is more concerned with sitting on the sidelines and being inactive. Rigondeaux has not fought since September 15th, when he defeated Roberto Marroquin.

"In all honesty, I do not know what is happening and there is a lot of misinformation. I am doing my part, I am preparing at my best to fight him tomorrow. I can not do anything more. My manager [Gary Hyde] is not here [in the United States] and I do not know a lot of the details, but I do not want to be surprised with a last minute change, so I'm preparing,' Rigondeaux said.

"There are many things that are going on beyond my comprehension. At first everything seemed to be plain sailing to that fight, but now everything is the opposite. My concern is that time is passing. The worst thing for a fighter and a champion is to remain inactive."
