During the last few days, several rumors have been published regarding the return of WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs). A return date of March 16th has been set down, but his oppponent is still unknown.

There is some discussion of a fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa. The match is unlikely, considering Gamboa is unwilling to jump all the way from 130 to 147-pounds, and Bradley is not overwhelmed by the financial terms, and Bradley will not meet Gamboa at a catch-weight closer to the junior welterweight limit of 140.

Another possible scenerio that people have been whispering for the last few months is the possibility of Bradley facing WBC champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley has been whispered as the darkhorse opponent for the May date for some time. Bradley has a solid promotional contract with Top Rank, who reportedly would be willing to entertain the possibility of taking a satisfactory fee in order to step away from the promotion.

Cameron Dunkin, the manager of Bradley, told BoxingScene.com that nothing has been determined - in either direction - as of yet.

"Nothing is done yet. We still don't know [if it will be Floyd or Gamboa]. We are going to talk [to Top Rank later] today to find out," said Dunkin.

If a deal with Mayweather ever came together, Dunkin states that Bradley would cancel the date in March and go straight ahead to a May fight with Floyd.
