Juan Carlos Burgos (30-1-1, 19KOs) plans to petition for a rematch with WBO featherweight champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez (26-1-2, 16KOs). Burgos is very upset with Saturday's decision at Madison Square Garden in New York. The two boxers fought to a twelve round draw, but many in attendance felt Burgos was the correct winner. The scores were 117-112 for Burgos, 116-112 for Martinez and 114-114 for the draw.

Burgos is now shooting for an immediate rematch. In the rematch Burgos is not going to leave it in the hands of the judges. He wants to end the fight with a knockout.

"Martinez was given a gift. We did everything to win this fight. I think I deserve a direct rematch. It was a great fight. I think I deserved to win, but the judges were in charge of that. Now, I have to knock him out to win. Otherwise, [the win will go] to him," Burgos told Lester Jiminez.

"he was a worthy opponent. Strong, brave, and he was punching forward. I connected several times, but Martinez was a durable opponent. He was an opponent with guts, courage, and he survived."
