Super middleweight champion Andre Ward has incurred a shoulder injury in training and will likely be forced to postpone his Jan. 26 defense against Kelly Pavlik at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, sources have confirmed with BoxingScene.com/CSNBayArea.com.

Ward (26-0, 14 KOs) was slated to headline an HBO World Championship Boxing main event against Pavlik (40-2, 34 KOs), the former undisputed middleweight champion.  Heavyweights Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne were scheduled to fight in a title eliminator in the televised co-feature.

There has been no word yet regarding the status of the rest of the card, but Ward-Pavlik will likely be headed for either late February or early March.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated initially reported the story on Wednesday night.
