This past Saturday, undefeated welterweight contender Kell "Special K" Brook (29-0) became Devon Alexander's (24-1) mandatory challenger with his third round knockout of Hector Saldivia.

On the same day, Alexander picked up the IBF welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Randall Bailey at the Barclays Arena in New York.  The IBF recently announced that negotiations must begin to pit the two fighters in a US versus UK showdown.

Alexander's manager and trainer Kevin Cunningham advised BoxingScene that his fighter has no problem facing Brook. He did make it clear that the fight must happen in the United States and doesn't see why that would be an issue for the Brit.

"Devon has no problem with fighting mandatory challenger Kell Brook but he has to come to the U.S. if he wants it. I don't see anything special about him, but he says he wants to follow in the foot steps of (Naseem) Hamed, (Ricky) Hatton and (Amir) Khan. Well they all came to the U.S. and fought world class fighters," stated Cunningham.
