Cameron Dunkin, manager of former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (40-2, 34 KOs), weighed in on a potential Feb. 23 fight between his fighter and reigning super middleweight king Andre Ward (26-0, 13 KOs).

“Kelly wants the fight,” Dunkin told BoxingScene.com Friday afternoon.  “We’re just talking about it right now, and seeing if the money is right.”

Ward is coming off an impressive 10th-round stoppage of Chad Dawson in September, while Pavlik outpointed Will Rosinsky in July.

“HBO is looking for an opponent for Andre Ward, and Kelly’s name came up,” Dunkin said.  “It would be a big fight for Kelly.”

When asked about a potential location for the bout, Dunkin was unequivocal.

“No, we wouldn’t fight him in Oakland,” he said.
