WBO/IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (29-1, 18KOs) paid a recent visit to The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene's official audio show. Donaire spoke to us about his October 13th showdown against Toshiaki Nishioka.

Donaire respect Nishioka's speed but feels that he has the edge in that category. He knows that his speed alone won't win him the fight and pointed out how accuracy and timing can defeat speed.

"I think I am a lot faster than he is but like I've said before, speed can be neutralized by perfect timing. Chavez Sr. wasn't the fastest guy but he had great timing.  You know how good he was," explained Donaire.

The Filipino Flash has seen his name linked to a who's who list of the top fighters from 118 to 126 pounds over the  past couple years.  He told us that he doesn't care who he fights next and will face any of the division's elite.

"At this point I have the guy I wanted at 122 (Nishioka). After this it doesn't matter if Rigondeaux or Mares are next. Put their name next to mine and we can fight. I make it easy for everybody. I will fight anyone," Donaire told The Boxing Lab.

When Donaire was making the move from 118 pounds up to 122 he hinted that his time in the division may be short as he kept a close eye on the featherweight division. His fight against Nishioka will mark his third fight at the weight.

Donaire said that he makes the weight easy and may stay at super bantamweight for awhile.

"I want to (move up). I have my goals at that weight class but if my body doesn't permit me to go up for a while then I will stay here. Like you said there is Mares, Moreno and Rigondeaux. There are plenty of guys to fight in this weight class. I make the weight easy. I could probably make 118 or 115. I don't really have to cut weight. By training hard I usually am around 124 or 126 pounds.  128 at the most so it isn't hard to make weight," Donaire revealed.
