WBC middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez (50-2-2, 28KOs) is still targeting a possible fight with the boxer he considers to be the pound-for-pound best, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather is the WBA champion at junior middleweight. Martinez would still move down to 154-pounds to make a deal for a Mayweather fight.

"He is certainly the best. But this does not mean that I won't win if I confront him. I want that fight more than anything else," Martinez said.

Martinez recently captured the title from Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He says a rematch with Chavez would probably be his next title defense at middleweight, but he still stands firm on having Chavez accept his terms for a pre-fight Olympic drug testing system - if the match takes place at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

"My next opponent for the title is probably Chavez," Martinez said.
