WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre "SOG" Ward (26-0, 14KOs) appeared on the latest edition of The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene's official audio show. The undefeated fighter revealed that he was impressed with Sergio Martinez's victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night.

"Martinez was very impressive. He put on a clinic until the twelfth round where we almost had history happen.  He did everything he said he was going to do," Ward stated.

Ward said that he would love a showdown against Martinez but doesn't think the fight has a realistic chance of happening.  He admits that the weight difference is an issue and agrees with the notion that Martinez is too small to come up to 168 pounds.

"I would love to fight Martinez but I don't think it is possible because of the weight. Martinez's people say that he is a small middleweight and they are right. They say that if I go down to 160 then a fight could happen but I don't think that is possible," Ward concluded.

Ward said that he is currently resting and that he plans on meeting with his team in a week or so to plan his next move.
