BoxingScene.com hs been advised that Puerto Rican contender Dulorme Thomas (15-0, 12 KOs) will receive the top welterweight ranking under the World Boxing Council (WBC). In the month of July, Dulorme was ranked in the third position, but the organization advised the fighter's co-promoter that Dulorme was going to receive the number one position in the new August rankings.

"We received notification that Dulorme will be ranked at number one by the World Boxing Council in their next rankings, in August, and this was achieved by the hard work that we've done with promoters Gary Shaw and Lou Dibella to continue maintaining Dulorme's activity," said Javier Bustillo, president of Universal Promotions.

Dulorme, 22-years-old, faces Ivan Hernandez on August 31st in Carolina, Puerto Rico. If he wins the fight as planned, he will return on October 27th in an HBO televised bout.
