BoxingScene.com recently spoke to junior middleweight contender Carlos Quintana. Like many other fighters in his division, "El Indio" has been patiently waiting to find out who is going to win the "Canelo Alvarez Sweepstakes".

Alvarez has seen three opponents fall out of his September 15th return date for a variety of reasons. The Showtime televised fight will go head to head against HBO's pay-per-view show headlined by the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. versus Sergio Martinez middleweight clash.

IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage, WBA "regular" junior middleweight champion Austin Trout and Quintana are among the names being mentioned as possible opponents for the WBC champion Alvarez.

BoxingScene spoke to Quintana earlier this evening and he asked me who the frontrunner is to land the fight. He said that no one has contacted his team about the fight.

"No one has called my team. I haven't heard anything about the fight. I just know what I read or what people tell me they have heard," revealed Quintana.

The former welterweight champion burst back onto the scene with his May 5th knockout win over Deandre Latimore. In an interview with BoxingScene after the fight, Quintana said that he wanted a fight with Alvarez and he reiterated those sentiments today.

"I want to fight Canelo. He is a good fighter and we would put on a good show for the fans.  [promoter Lou] DiBella knows I want the fight. Hopefully it happens," Quintana stated.
