BoxingScene.com recently spoke with Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik. The former middleweight champion recently made the move to Oxnard, CA where he is now training under the tutelage of Robert Garcia.

As reported by BoxingScene's Rick Reeno, Pavlik's ring return is scheduled for March 31 in San Antonio, Texas - where he faces Aaron Jaco (15-2, 5KOs) at a max-weight of 170-pounds. Pavlik plans to fight at the super middleweight limit in that fight and then evaluate if he can get down to the middleweight limit.

"With Cecilio (Flores) we will see what I can do. I asked to fight this next fight at 168 and then we will work on it," Pavlik explained.  "Believe me I would love the Chavez fight and I still want another shot at [Sergio] Martinez. If I can make the weight in a safe way it would be a different fight [with Martinez]."

The Youngstown, Ohio native feels that Chavez hasn't been tested against a heavy handed puncher such as himself. Pavlik thinks that a fight against Chavez would play out similarly to his knockout won over Rubio.

"I won't knock him. He's a good fighter with some pop but I want to see him when he is in there with a fighter with more pop.  I see it kind of going how my fight came went against Rubio where I stopped him in the 8th round," Pavlik told BoxingScene.com.

Pavlik feels that Chavez won't be able to handle his power coupled with his trademark high workrate. He thinks that combination will lead him to a mid to late round stoppage of Chavez.

"When he sees 85 to 90 punches a round and 60 of them are power punches I think it will eventually wear him down," said Pavlik.
