MGM GRAND, Las Vegas - BoxingScene.com caught up with former 3 division world champion Marco Antonio Barrera moments after Toshiaki Nishioka retained his WBC super bantamweight title by defeating Rafael Marquez via unanimous decision. Barrera was owrking the broadcast booth for TV Azteca's televised feed in Mexico.

The "Baby Faced Assassin" hasn't been very active the past few years. Barrera last fought in February when he defeated Jose Arias via second round knockout.  When boxingScene asked Barrera about his future plans, the future hall of famer indicated that the end of his career is near.

"I haven't been very active lately. I would like to have one last fight before I retire. Just a small fight and then I will be done," stated Barrera.

Earlier this year there were rumors of Barrera facing WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios and also rumors of a possible fourth fight between himself and WBC junior welterweight champion Erik Morales.

Barrera had this to say about possibly facing Rios, "Those were rumors and nothing more. I was never interested in that fight."

Barrera had a similar response about facing Morales, "I am not interested in that fight. I don't have the motivation to train for that type of fight anymore.  I just want one more fight and then I will enjoy my time with my family."
