Hard-hitting heavyweight prospect Magomed Abdusalamov (9-0, 9 KOs), 2005 and 2006 Russian amateur heavyweight champion, looks to impress one more time on October 1 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, as he enters the ring against journeyman Kevin Burnett (13-4-1, 8 KOs). The fight will take its place in an undercard of Sergio Martinez’s comeback to the ring versus Darren Barker.

30-year old Abdusalamov is a single-hit marvel, whose only “blemish” so far was registered in his last contest when Jerry Butler became the first ever to last till the second-round against the power-punching Russian. Abdusalamov is being trained by Eddie Sanchez and guided by no other than Pablo Sarmiento, Martinez’s head coach.

“I’ll enter the ring at the lowest weight in my entire career”, said Abdusalamov to Allboxing’s Bill Kozloff. “It’ll be an experiment. I’ll test my punching power, my stamina and my speed under new conditions. It’ll be an interesting story to watch”.
