BoxingScene.com has been advised by several strong Mexican sources that WBA "regular" junior middleweight champion Austin Trout (23-0, 13KOs) failed a post-fight drug test for last Saturday's fight with David "Destroyer" Lopez (40-13, 23KOs). Trout won a twelve round decision over Lopez in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Reportedly, Trout tested positive for marijuana. The fight is likely going to end up as a no-contest. I've heard Lopez's promoter, Hector Garcia, is in the process of sending a letter to the WBA to request an immediate rematch and/or Trout being stripped and Lopez getting a direct shot for the vacant title.
