Top Rank Promotions CEO, Bob Arum, confirmed an earlier BoxingScene.com report that he is considering a fall bout between WBA and IBF featherweight king, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and ex-world champion, Rafael Marquez, along with a fall rematch featuring newly crowned WBO counter part, Orlando Salido, and the man he dethroned, Juan Manuel Lopez.

Arum had been hopeful of a lucrative clash between Gamboa (20-0, 16 knockouts) and the previously unbeaten Lopez (30-1, 27 KOs), that is, until Lopez was stopped in the eighth round on April 16 by Salido (35-11-2, 25 KOs), this, on the heels of Salido's September, unanimous loss to Gamboa.

Lopez was coming off of November's eighth round knockout victory over Marquez (39-6, 35 KOs), a former bantamweight and super bantamweight titlist.

Last month, Gamboa took only four rounds to blast into submission, Jorge Solis (40-3-2, 29 KOs), scoring five knockdowns in the process.

"I think that we're trying to make a Gamboa-Marquez fight, probably in September. They're two good fighters and that would make an interesting fight," said Arum, adding that a Salido-Lopez rematch would take place "probably for the same time period."

Co-promoted by Top Rank's Mexican partner Zanfer Promotions, Marquez could fight on the June 4, card featuring a WBC middleweight title clash between Sebastian Zbik (30-0, 10 KOs) and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0-1, 30 KOs).
