City West Hotel in Dublin, Ireland - In his most impressive performance to date, Guillermo Rigondeaux (8-0, 6KOs) retained the interim WBA super bantamweight title with a first round destruction of previously undefeated Willie Casey (11-1, 7KOs).

They started trading punches early. Casey put a lot of pressure on Rigo and tried to get his combinations in. Rigo seemed to hurt Casey with a shot to the body and started chasing him down. During an exchange, a left hand from Rigo caused a flash knockdown on Casey. Rigo went back to the body and landed a huge left to send Casey down for the second time in the first. Rigo jumped on him again with a combination of punches to send Casey reeling down for a third time as the referee jumped in to stop it.
