Bob Arum has big plans for Miguel Cotto and if the WBA 154-pound champion defeats Ricardo Mayorga on March 12 in Las Vegas, the next step is a June rematch would a title defense against Antonio Margarito in June in New York. Arum would then consider matching him with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at 160 pounds for the WBC middleweight titles and then close the Puerto Rican's career with a Manny Pacquiao rematch.

The fight with Chavez would depend on the Mexican boxer beating Billy Lyell on January 29 and then beat WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik in May.

"Cotto is going to have a chance of a rematch with Margarito, and Julio Jr. could fight for the WBC middleweight title in Mexico. If [Julio] wins it, he could be challenged by Miguel who will look for a fourth [divisional] title. And the end could be the opportunity of a rematch with Manny Pacquiao,  the super champion congressman who will fight for another three years. It's a very important time for Cotto," Arum said.
