As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Japanese star Daiki Kameda (19-2, 11KOs) officially announced that he will be vacating the flyweight title of the World Boxing Association, which he retained in December with a decision over Romanian Silvio Olteanu in Tokyo .

The new WBA flyweight champion will be Panamanian Luis "Nica" Concepcion, who was the owner of the interim belt, and was in talks to face Kameda before the end of the year.

However, at the start of talks between the attorneys for both fighters, Kameda made his decision known. He said it's been tough to continue making 112 pounds, and sent an official letter to the Chairman of the WBA's World Championship Committee, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.
