Following the withdrawal of Spanish boxer Gabriel Campillo (20-3, 7 KO), Thierry Karl (27-4, 18 KO) has secured a new opponent for his upcoming battle for the vacant EBU light heavyweight title, which takes place on January 22 at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan in Levallois, France.

Cyril Seror received permission from the EBU to find a replacement, and the name of the man who will face the French boxer is Britain's Danny McIntosh (12-1, 6 KO), viewed as a formidable opponent with only one defeat on his record and that came at the hands of former European champion and current WBO interim king Nathan Cleverly (21-0, 10 KO).

With the completion of this European championship bout, the evening of boxing in Levallois promises to be very interesting indeed. In other action on the card, Israeli Hagar Finer will defend his bantamweight title of the WIBF against the French boxer Nadege Szikora. This event will be broadcast live on channel Direct 8.
