According to Univision, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. who is currently the WBC's silver champion at middleweight, is looking to fight Sebastian Zbik for the WBC's interim title at the same weight. Chavez wants to take his trainer Freddie Roach to Mexico's Otomi Center in the mountains in order to train at a high altitude to properly for this clash.

 

"I want that fight and I want it now. I hope that I can have the chance to fight Zbik. I want to start this year off with a great fight and become champion. It will be a great fight, and I hope the fight gets made here in Toluca, Mexico. I am just waiting for the confirmation from [Fernando] Beltran about bringing Freddie and the team to start training," Chavez said.

 

"I heard that [WBC middleweight champ] Sergio Martinez is going to fight Andy Lee in March and I am looking to fight on January 29. The negotiations are going good and I hope to fight Zbik next."
