At the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Nonito Donaire (25-1-2, 17KOs) punished former bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko (22-3-2, 7KOs) for a fourth round stoppage. Sidorenko went down three times in the contest. Donaire is already set to face WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel on February 19 on HBO.

Donaire-Sidorenko was thought by many to be the televised main event of Top Rank's "In Harm's Way" pay-per-view, but it appears Humberto Soto-Urbano Antillon replaced it on top.

Donaire came out with hard power shots in the first round that were hitting Sidorenko flush. In the closing moments of the first round, a hard combo sent Sidorenko down hard. He was very lucky to get up at the bell because he was in serious trouble.

The second saw Donaire pumping the jab on the smaller Sidorenko and following up with power shots. Sidorenko tightened up his defense but he got hit every time he opened up with punches. In the final minute of the third, Sidorenko went down for the second time in the contest from a hard counter left hook. This time around he wasn't that hurt and Donaire realized that. Instead of jumping on Sidorenko, he started using his jab and following with shots.

By the start of the fourth, Sidorenko's face was a busted up mess. Sidorenko, now a bloody mess, went down again from hard shots and this time the ref had seen enough. It did not appear that Sidorenko was making it up.
