One of the mandatories to the WBC middleweight title, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., would love to get a shot at the full champion, Sergio Martinez. Chavez is the WBC "silver" champion at 160-pounds. He is going to fight Pawel Wolak on December 4 in Anaheim, California. Like many others in the sport, he watched Martinez destroy Paul Williams last Saturday in Atlantic City. He was shocked that Martinez was able to end the fight in two rounds.

"I was surprised at how quickly and how easily he won. I think Williams was wide open and reaching with a lot of his punches and he didn't have any type of defensive plan. In boxing you have to be well prepared, but if you're not focused - one shot can put you to sleep," Chavez said.

He would love Martinez, but after the fight with Wolak he plans to push for a potential fight with WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto in March.

"I would love to fight with Martinez. He's a great champion, but I understand that I'm going to fight Miguel Cotto, and I must be ready to seize the opportunity in order to achieve great things," Chavez said.
