On the sidelines of the recent card where David Lemieux knocked out Hector Camacho Jr. at the Bell Centre in Montreal on October 29, BoxingScene.com/Netboxe.com spoke with super lightweight Omri Lowther (14-2-0). The Toronto native, who is originally from Georgia in the United States, recently made his mark in Montreal in a fight with Henry "Hank" Lundy, which took place on August 28 and televised on ESPN2.

When and where will Lowther fight next?

"I had a fight set at Casino Rama this weekend, but my opponent was refused by the Athletic Commission of Ontario," Lowther explained, referring to the event on October 30 that showcased Troy Ross.

Lowther will ultimately not get lost in the shuffle. He is scheduled to effectively take part in the mega-event presented by Top Rank on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas, where he will face undefeated Brandon Rios (25-0-1), the current NABF lightweight champion, on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito pay-per-view undercard.

Lowther, who was the WBA's Fedecarib champion in 2009 before being stripped for not defending his title, joined the firm Hennessy Canada in 2010. It is with pleasure that we talked about his adaptation to his new coaching staff, as well as his latest battle against Lundy.

"It's an evolutionary process. My new coach Chris Johnson and I gradually learn to know each other. I believe we are now on the same wavelength and the progress will appear in my next fight. Unfortunately for my last fight, everything happened very quickly [referring to the change in opponent]." Lowther, who lost a unanimous decision at the hands of Lundy, was originally scheduled to face Edner Cherry.

"Lundy was truly a world class competitor and I'm proud of my performance. We knew  it could be explosive. But I can't be disappointed with my performance. I got up and I gave everything I could. Given the fact that it was a last minute battle, I gave a beautiful performance. At the same time, is true that a boxer learns a lot in defeat and I am now a better fighter. This defeat showed me how not to not lose again. Lundy was a good experience for me. I hated that I lost this fight, but I learned in the ring by facing it and I know I can compete."

Would it be interested in boxing again in Montreal?

"I really enjoyed the [Lundy] opportunity that was offered to me by Groupe Yvon Michel and my manager Hennessy Canada. It really helped me get some good experience in the ring. I loved boxing in Montreal. The atmosphere is excellent and the fans are overexcited. Next time, you will definitely see me win. "
