Multiple sources in Mexico are reporting that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's handlers will make another run to secure welterweight contender Matthew Hatton as an opponent. Alvarez has a date set aside for his next fight, December 4, and Cancun, Mexico has been mentioned as a possible location for the contest.

Golden Boy Promotions tried to make Alvarez-Hatton earlier this year as a co-feature contest for the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley pay-per-view in May. They were unable to reach a deal.

Alvarez has extended his promotional agreement with Golden Boy. Details have not been revealed by Golden Boy, but sources in Mexico report the new deal is a three-year and/or ten fight deal, with a 30% monetary increase from the contract he signed earlier this year, and there are numerous incentives based on performance.
