According to the Puerto Rico's Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel, president of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel and mandatory Eric Morel will clash on October 30 at the close of the 23rd Annual Convention of the WBO to be held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

"This fight is a fact and I believe it will be very interesting because it will pit two great champions like Montiel and Morel," said Valcárcel exclusively to BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com. "This fight had already been signed in July of this year, but Morel was injured and so now the Puerto Rican people want to fulfill the commitment that will be televised by TV Azteca.

"Morel was injured a week before the fight. Now they wanted to honor the commitment and will fight in Colombia, as part of our convention. During the evening there will be other big fights from all promoters that are coming together from the Philippines, Argentina, Germany, England, Costa Rica, Mexico and of course Colombia."

The venue will be the Convention Center of Cartagena. Companies like Zanfer of Mexico, PR Best Boxing of Puerto Rico, promoter Billy Chams of Colombia, All Star Boxing, among others, will contribute to the development of this important boxing card.
