Former junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi gives his take on the June 5 bout between WBA junior middleweight Yuri Foreman and two-division belt winner Miguel Cotto. The fight happens at New York's Yankee Stadium. Malignaggi is familiar with both of the fighters. He is friends with Foreman and lost a unanimous decision to Cotto several years ago.

Malignaggi is curious to see what Cotto has left in the tank. The Puerto Rican star has taken some serious beatings in the last two years and was knocked out in two of his last four fights. He thinks Foreman's style will present some problems for Cotto.

“I’m curious to see what Cotto has left after the very physical losses he’s had, and even the physical wins he’s had, in the last few years,” Malignaggi said to BoxingScene.com's Keith Idec. “Yuri has a style that could trouble him because of the movement."

He gives Cotto the edge in power but wonders if that power is going to hurt a big junior middleweight. Foreman has displayed a good chin in past appearances. Cotto is fighting at 154-pounds for the first time.

“Yuri’s also a bigger man, so will Cotto’s damaging punches be so damaging to a bigger man? And I also know Yuri’s a tough guy. He’s not a guy who’s just going to lay down and die for you, so it’s an interesting fight,” Malignaggi said.
