Undefeated welterweight prospect Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is going through some hard training for the toughest fight of his career on May 1 pay-per-view undercard to Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Alvarez faces Jose Miguel Cotto, the older brother of two-division champion Miguel Cotto.

Alvarez began the second stage of his training camp in Mexico. He already completed close to 60 rounds of sparring and is working on building up his speed and power for the fight. Everything morning he runs for several miles to ensure there is enough stamina if the fight heads to the late rounds. Crowds of supporters visit him in camp every day to watch him train.

He plans to leave for Las Vegas on April 17. There will be two sparring partners waiting for him in Vegas to finish up the camp.
