At the Auditorio Plaza La Condesa in Mexico City, Mexico, lightweight Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs) returned for the first time since last September's loss to Michael Katsidis, and stopped Carlos Urias (43-24, 32 KOs) in three rounds. Urias tried to make it a fight but he was overmatched and overpowered. Escobedo decked him two times before the fight was waved off in the third round.

In the co-feature, super featherweight prospect Dante Jardon (12-1, 12 KOs) put away David Rodela (14-3-2, 6 KOs) in the third round. Jardon overwhelmed Rodela with his high workrate. Jardon came close to putting him away after dropping him in the second round. The bell saved him in the second, but he was not as lucky in the third round. He never fully recovered from the second and was battered in the third before going down for good.
