A few days ago, WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel was upset over the money he was being offered to fly to Japan for a unification with WBC champ Hozumi Hasegawa on April 30. The financial situation has been sorted out and Montiel is now ready to challenge the WBC champ in hostile territory.

Montiel views the fight with Hasegawa as his big chance to show the world how talented he really is.

"I'm going to Japan and I'm happy. I feel very happy because the matter was settled with the money and I am very motivated for this fight, which is going to put the eyes of the world, particularly the Asian region, on this fight," Montiel told boxnoticias. "I am happy because I know I can win the fight against Hasegawa, and show the world who's the best bantamweight in the world."
