Promoter Gary Shaw was caught off-guard when he saw BoxingScene.com's report on Saturday night, which confirmed that Amir Khan had signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions. Shaw was negotiating a deal with Khan's ex-promoter Frank Warren to stage a unification clash between Khan and unbeaten WBC champion Timothy Bradley. Showtime was very interested in televising that fight.

Now that Warren is out, and Golden Boy is in, Shaw wants to continue holding talks for Khan-Bradley. Of course, Shaw is not holding his breath for this fight to happen. He previously reached out to Golden Boy to secure a fight for Bradley with either Marcos Maidana or Victor Ortiz. Both of those possible fights were turned down.

"If Khan isn't willing to fight Maidana for the title, and he isn't wiling to fight Victor Ortiz, and Malignaggi may or may not want to fight him - then Timothy Braldey is offering a third fight to Golden Boy. We offered to fight Victor Ortiz and they turned it down. We offered to fight Maidana and they turned it down. So now we are making a formal offer to fight Amir Khan and if they turn that down, do their fighters really want to fight the best out there," Shaw told BoxingScene.com

"Timothy Braldey is ready, willing and able to fight Amir Khan. I  was negotiating with Frank Warren and Showtime for a Khan-Bradley fight. Now that Frank doesn't have him and Golden Boy has him, I want to continue those negotiations."
