Ricky Hatton announced plans for a comeback on his website this afternoon.  Hatton, who has been in active since his loss to Manny Pacquiao, has teased and hinted about a comeback over the past few months but has now put the speculation to bed by confirming that the wheels are in motion.

A statement on his website said that 'Ricky Hatton has confirmed to Hatton TV that he will be making a return to the ring in 2010.  He will start his training camp after returning from a family holiday in February.  No opponent has yet been fixed not a venue and Ricky will talk with Sky TV about possible dates before any decisions are made.'

Hatton's return would be a huge boost for British boxing but there are fears, particularly from his former trainer Billy Graham, that 'The Hitman' may not be able to operate at the top level anymore.  All will be revealed during 2010.
