Former champion James Toney (72-6-3, 44KOs) made his return to the ring at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, stopping journeyman Matthew Greer (12-6, 11KOs) in two rounds. Toney came in at the best weight of his career since the 2003 heavyweight bout with Evander Holyfield. Toney weighed in on Friday at 217.5 pounds.

Toney was too fast for Greer, landing punches at will for two rounds. He dropped Greer in the second with a shot the fighter never saw coming. He then began to batter him from all angles until the ref stopped the fight.
