According to reports coming out of Altanta, Georgia, the third and final suspect in the robbery/murder of former champion Vernon Forrest, has been caught by police. Charmon Sinkfield, 30, was arrested by U.S. Marshalls on Wednesday night. He was caught during a traffic stop and is currently being questioned at Atlanta Police headquarters. One police source told reporters that Sinkfield is believed to be the suspect to have shot Forrest several times in the back.

On July 26, Forrest was robbed as he stopped by gas station in Southwest Atlanta. He was robbed by Damario Ware, 20, who was arrested several days later by authorities. After being robbed, Forrest, also armed with a gun, ran after Ware but eventually gave up the chase. He was alleged to have confronted Sinkfield during the chase but when Forrest realized that Sinkfield was not Ware, the fighter turned around and decided to walk back to the gas station. Forrest did not realize that both men were part of the same group. Sinkfield was then alleged to have shot Forrest to death from behind with seven to eight shots.

The driver of the vehicle that was used to escape the scene was caught on August 5. Jquante Crews, 25, was arrested by Atlanta police last Wednesday at the home of his brother. All three are going to be charged with murder, felony murder, possession of a firearm by a felon in commission of a crime, aggravated assault and armed robbery.
