According to the Houston Chronicle, light heavyweight contender Chris Henry (23-2, 18KOs) was tasered and arrested Tuesday by the Orange Police Department in Texas for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Henry was arrested about 1:15am on Tuesday in the 3600 block of Kenwood Street after after Orange police were called with complaints that a man was yelling and walking in circles in the street. Henry's girlfriend told Police the fighter had smoked PCP. There were reports that Henry had a firearm but a gun was not recovered from the scene.

The police report states that the man "continued to jump around and yell, displaying signs of someone that had been smoking PCP." Officers were forced to use a taser and then Henry put up a fight as they tried to arrest him.

"I believed that he was intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself and others. Fearing that he may a gun on his person or close to the area, we told the subject to get on the ground, but he would not comply. For officer safety, I deployed my Taser X26 and fired one shot into the front torso of the subject," Officer Weldon Smith wrote in the report.

Henry has been booked into the Orange County Jail for Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication. He has a fight scheduled on June 4 at the Civic Center in Humble, Texas against Ross Thompson. Whether the fight will go forward is up for debate, especially with the allegations of pre-fight drug use.
