World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman is asking junior welterweight title holder Timothy Bradley to make his mind up as to which organization he wants to be champion of.

Last Saturday, Bradley showed guts when he got up from two knockdowns during his fight with WBO Champ Kendall Halt to win a unanimous decision and unify the two titles.

Don Jose said: “They (Bradley’s representatives) called to say they want to keep the WBO title. But we approved the fight with the condition that the winner would have fifteen days to determine what title to keep. Because of the way things have gone with unified titles, organizations lose all authority. So I’m not in agreement with that.

“If he does not pick the WBC, then we understand that he relinquishes the title, it’ll be vacant and we’ll order the two highest available challengers to fight for it.”

Last year Timothy Bradley was due to fight Jose Luis Castillo in Cancun, for the right to meet then champion Junior Witter. But Castillo didn’t make the weight, so the WBC then raised him to the number one challenger position.

The fifteen day time limit to make up his mind started, from the day after the April 4th fight with Kendall Holt.

In other news Jose Sulaiman says the WBC wants Mexican Bantamweight sensation Carlos Cuadras to take a ring rest for 90 days, and not glove up for a minimum of 45 days. Cuadras knocked out Arturo Camargo in round one of an undercard bout of the Edgar Sosa vs. Pornsawan Porpramook Light Flyweight championship bout in Victoria, Tamuaulipas last Saturday. But not before being knocked down hard. Cuadras has stopped all eight of his opponents in a glittering, but fledgling career.
