At the Plaza de Toros, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, WBC super featherweight champion Humberto Soto (47-7-2, 30KOs) stopped veteran Antonio Davis (26-5, 13KOs) in four rounds.

Soto went quickly on the attack, throwing combinations and trying to get a knockout in the first round. David did his best to hold and attempt to get out of trouble. A left hook at the end of the round sent David down in the final ten seconds. Davis tried to rush Soto at the start of the second. The fight turned into a brawl. David sustained a cut above the left eye from a Soto right. Davis was once again hurt in the final twenty seconds and made it to the bell.

The brawl continued in the third, with both guys trying to throw power punches at close range. Soto once again poured on the heat at the end and stunned Davis. The left eye of Davis began to swell up. At the start of the fourth, a massive right hand sent Davis down again. Soto jumped on him to finish and landed another right hand that sent Davis down for the second time in the round. Davis held his ground, trying to make a last stand. Soto continued to batter him and the ref jumped in to stop it.
