At the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, Junior middleweight prospect Alfredo Angulo (14-0, 11 KOs) punished Andrey Tsurkan (26-4, 17 KOs) on route to a tenth-round knockout.

Like many expected, both guys came to the center and began to throw power punches with neither guy taking a step back. The first round was fought at a high pace with Angulo getting the better of the action with harder punches and better combinations. After Tsurkan took an early lead in the first part of the second-round, Angulo would rip him with power shots to the head and body in the second-half of the second-round.

Angulo began to punish Tsurkan during the third. During the third-round action, a bad cut opened up above Angulo's right eye. The pace slowed down during the middle rounds, but Angulo was landing better and harder and really beating Tsurkan up throughout the fight. Angulo hurt Tsurkan bad at the end of the ninth, battering him until the bell.

The tenth and final round was even worse, Angulo badly punished Tsurkan and was unloading power punches in the corner when Tsurkan's manager waved the white towel to stop the fight.
