Vernon Forrest was true to his word, he was not going to budge and allow WBC junior middleweight champ Sergio Mora to fight Shane Mosley (44-5, 37 KOs) in the main event of an HBO pay-per-view on October 11. Mora won a majoirty decision over Forrest a few weeks ago to win the title. There was a rematch clause in their contract and Forrest exercised it. If the Mosley-Mora fight went forward, Forrest was ready to begin a legal challenge to stop.

Out goes Mora and in comes Ricardo Mayorga (28-6-1, 22 KOs). Over the last few years, a Mosley vs. Mayorga bout has been in talks on at least three or four occasions. This time the fight might actually get done. Talks were ongoing over the weekend between Don King and Golden Boy Promotions.

Mosley and Mayorga have both been inactive since last November. Mosley lost a close decision to Miguel Cotto and Mayorga went up to catch-weight of 166-pounds to decision Fernando Vargas, who Mosley stopped twice. On the other hand, Mayorga owns two wins over Forrest, who beat Mosley twice.

"That is what it looks like we will do," Schaefer told Dan Rafael. "I am working on it with Don King."
