Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) is so confident that Gennady Golovkin will never fight Andre Ward - that's he's willing to come out of retirement for a fight with GGG - if the IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion defeats Ward in the ring.

Last year, Ward (28-0, 15KOs) tried to secure a fight with Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs). The fight never happened after both sides were unable to agree on the contracted weight.

While Golovkin is willing to face Carl Froch, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., James DeGale and Bernard Hopkins at 168-pounds, his team demanded a catch-weight of 164 for Ward - who rejected anything less than the super middleweight limit.

In a recent story on BoxingScene.com, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez discussed what he believes is Mayweather's "fixation" with his fighter.

Sanchez believes Mayweather is going to make a return to the sport and is using Golovkin's name in interviews to set the stage for a ring return.

Mayweather, who retired last September after a decision win over Andre Berto, is ready to face Golovkin - if he beats Ward. Golovkin has often called Mayweather his 'dream fight' and is willing to drop down to the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds to do that fight.

"When you hear stuff about Triple G, like I said before, I told Triple G what he had to do if he wants a fight with me. He's gotta call out Andre Ward, beat Andre Ward, and then I'll fight him. I haven't seen him call out Andre Ward yet," Mayweather told Fighthype.com.

Ward, who moved up to light heavyweight, returns on Saturday night against undefeated Sullivan Barrera, who happens to be trained by Abel Sanchez.

Unless Golovkin beats Ward, he won't be on Mayweather's radar - if the retired pound-for-pound king decides to return. If Mayweather gets the itch to step back in the ring, he says WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia would be the first name on his list.

"If I did think about coming back, there's only one name I'm looking at and that's Danny Garcia. I have to say Danny Garcia because you look at Danny Garcia, he's undefeated and he's a world champion. If I'm going to fight a guy, it's going to be a world champion," Mayweather said.
