| 50 Cent Interested in Signing Prospect Jose Lopez
|
|
By “Mr. Boxing” Giancarlo Oquendo Rapper and boxing promoter 50 Cent showed up at a boxing event that was held in Caguas, Puerto Rico by Miguel Cotto Promotions. Lightweight Abner Cotto, the cousin of former world champion Miguel Cotto, was featured in the main event. 50 Cent was watching undefeated Puerto Rican super bantamweight prospect Jose "Wonder Boy" Lopez - who has an undefeated record of 6 wins and 5 by way of knockout. Apparently 50 Cent is interested in signing the Puerto Rican boxer to his new promotional company, SMS Promotions. A member of Lopez's team said there negotiations on signing him. On the show, Lopez swept Erick Gotay (3-1-1 KO's) to win a unanimous decision. The official scorecards of judges were 40-34 (x3).

50 used to be a boxer. He opted to sell drugs, lead a negative life instead
So it was no doubt in my mind he was doing this other than for the loving of money |

This shows you that 50 cent is serious about this boxing thing, if he wasn't he wouldn't be going to small shows like this talent hunting. This is old school boxing man, I hope 50 cent stays serious, he has great ideas to help the sport man, especially his ambition trying to help target the youth... |

No doubt 50 has good intentions. He is a fan of the sport and he's obviously not happy with the way it's going. There's also no doubt he hasn't recoup his investments. Whether he succeeds or not remains to be seen. How could you hate someone trying to contribute to the sport? |
