The past two weeks have been tense between former friends Floyd Mayweather Jr. and 50 Cent. Several heated exchanges took place over the social networks. Miranda Johnson of XXL Magazine caught up with the rapper/boxing promoter to get an explanation on why his feud with Mayweather has restarted. At one time the two of them were inseparable but then the two had a falling out over a business deal a few years ago.

50 Cent: ďIíll do things that will be really random and itíll be the biggest thing at the moment ícause nothing else is going on at that point. It happens over and over. Like just stopping by a game to throw a pitch turns into [me] on CNN and [I] canít get away from it. When you have an aggressive aura around you, then I believe people donít want to miss the opportunity to laugh at you. Floyd is one-dimensional. The Money Team concept is one-dimensional. We actually started pushing it during the recession. It was cool ícause his viewership was going up but itís not actually the right message for me and who I am. So I started working with The United Nations and The World Food Program, and feeding America. Providing meals through the SK Energy Shots and that was at the same time because I started realizing that this is not the right concept of what you should present to the public.Ē

ďPeople think I get angry with Floyd, thatís like my younger brother. So heíll do things and I wonít necessarily understand why he does it but itíll agitate me and Iíll do things in response. Other times Iíll just watch him do something that I think is completely crazy. Itís just who he is. He doesnít have to make adjustments for me and I donít have to make adjustments for him. I stopped making adjustments for him. We have one of those love/hate relationships.Ē

ďI donít hate him, I love him, actually. Entering the sport of boxing is a reflection of that relationship. He doesnít make any money away from the sport of boxing. That tells you when heís done fighting, heís done period. I just try to encourage him to do things away from the sportÖ Ē

ďItís pretty tough to digest the concept that we donít spend money the same. He spends all of his money. He lives a richer lifestyle than we actually live day to day. In the end, itís not a sustainable lifestyle. Iíll have to help him when it gets too tough. Weíve had conversations about this.Ē

[QUOTE=!! Shawn]This may be the dumbest thing I have seen since horus "floyds boat is an investment" thing. You do realize that uncle sam gets his cut whether or not Floyd spends his money right? You honestly think Floyd had to buy 3 Bugatti Veyrons to avoid the tax man? I'm really not sure w...

[QUOTE=billeau2]The most idiotic thing 50 did was to assume that he would glide into becoming a boxing promoter. I still remember that arrogant post to De La Hoya....kindo of showed that 50 is no brain surgeon lol. So yeah his credability is not there and he is indeed in no position to lecture an...

[QUOTE=billeau2]I have nothing against Floyd at all. Frankly my beef is with the system which takes earned income as a primary source of revenue. It creates the illusion that a finite amount of money can be used indefinitely when anybody who is in the know understands that unless money is generat...

[QUOTE=TLC8]It's all about being gangster. It's all about boasting over all you have, then throw that canned response in there "God Bless", like he has a relationship with God. Floyd is all smoke and mirrors, found a niche to market & promote his "0". His days are numbered. Floyd is good for Floy...
