Jermell Charlo to fight Charlie Ota in Montreal on May 24

By Mike Coppinger

Jermell Charlo has his next fight lined up.

The junior middleweight contender announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he will face Charlie Ota at the Bell Centre in Montreal on May 24.

The fight will be on the undercard of Showtime's main event between Adonis Stevenson and Andrzej Fonfara. While it's not clear if the fight will be on the main broadcast, it's likely it will at least land on television via Showtime Extreme.

Charlo (23-0-0, 11 KOs), whose twin brother Jermall is also a top fighter, scored the biggest win of his career in January with a wide-points win over Gabe Rosado on Showtime.

Ota (24-1-1, 16 KOs) lives in Tokyo, Japan by way of New York, N.Y.

The winner gets a shot at Andrade possibly in the fall.

Charlo moved pretty well that last fight, wouldn't mind seeing him again.

Just realized this is Jermell and not his brother

Ota is 32, it's time for him to get to it.
ota exposes this boy!
I think the Charlos are good and Ota is decent... he mostly just a big fish in a little pond in Japan.
